Major points:
The environment, the power of thought - which should be read as the power of a belief
Belief is the absence of knowing through personal, subjective experience. Belief calls for faith. No one says I believe the sky is blue. They say they know the sky is blue. There subjective experience aligns with the collective experience of most of humanity
Do you have a psychosis? An abnormal condition of the mind leading to prominent symptoms like hallucinations, delusional beliefs, exhibiting personality changes and thought disorder.
In the essay titled Nile Valley Origins of the Science of the Mind, Dr. Na’im Akbar masterfully tackles the word origin of ‘psyche’:
“’Psyche’, frequently identified with the Greek goddess of the same name actually means ‘soul’. According to Massey (1974) the word Psyche is actually derived from the Egyptian in which Khe is the soul and Su is she; hence the feminine nature of the Greek Psu-khe. Without the article ‘P’, Sakhu means the “understanding, the illuminator, the eye and soul of being, that which inspires.” Not only the study of the mind derived from the ancient Egypt, but even the word used to characterize that study.”
Studying the kemetic (ancient Egyptian) way provides the philosophy that everything is spirit. All things originate from the supreme Spirit (the Creator) and Spirit gives birth to spirit.
“Just as there is no difference between the ocean and the waves it gives birth to, the body is one with the Spirit”, establishes Dr. Ashby, and he goes on to say, “Thus, referring to a human being as a complex of body, mind, and spirit, is a formality for being able to communicate about the different aspects of a human being, who is in reality a 100% spiritual being. Much in the same manner, the ancient Kemetic sages used the system of gods and goddesses as tools to represent the different cosmic forces and principles (characteristics) of the one Supreme Being, for the purposes of understanding the one Divine Self.”
In traditional African philosophy there was no distinction or separation between the spiritual and the physical as uniting components to create the human experience. Hence a psychosis can be look upon as an abnormal condition or operation of our body-soul-mind connect.
In other words our soul identity is not being expressed through spirit they way is could be.
